Goalkeeper, Chinedu Anozie will remain with Plateau United as the former Nigerian champions look to make a big impression in next season’s CAF Champions League.
It was unclear if Anozie would extend his contract with United following reports in some quarters that he was poised to leave the club.
The Jos club have now announced that the goalkeeper has extended his contract with the club that will represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League.
“Goalkeeper Awawa (Anozie) has been in Jos (for the past) three weeks training hard on his own in order to stay fit ahead of the resumption of football which was put on hold due to Coronavirus pandemic,” club spokesman, Albert Dakup revealed.
“The former Mighty Jets of Jos safe hands (Anozie) is comfortable with his current contract is not planning to live the club any time soon due to contractual issues.”
Dakup added that Anozie, who joined United from FC Ifeanyiubah, has penned a three year contract with Plaeau United.
