Anthony Joshua slams crtics over George Floyd protest

IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO world heavyweight Boxing champion, Anthony Joshua has come down hard on people who criticized his speech at a Black Lives Matter protest on Saturday.

Joshua joined protesters at a rally in his hometown of Watford and spoke out in the fight against racism following the death of George Floyd in the United States while in Police custody last month.

However, Joshua faced heavy backlash after a brief section of his speech was taken out of context and widely shared on social media.

In the video, Joshua said: “Show them where it hurts.

“Abstain from spending your money in their shops and economies, and invest in black-owned businesses.”

Joshua has now responded to his critics who have accused him of being racist.

“If you think I’m a racist go f*** yourself!,” Joshua said in a video released on Sunday.

“If you watch the full video, the speech was passed around for someone to read and I took the lead.

“I personally spoke from the heart about the Watford community, ideas of us personally investing 7 figures to create unity and opportunities and adding change to the African/Carribbean community. “Shops aren’t the issue here.
‘Before you talk s*** you better boycott racism. ‘I said what I said and I will act to make change,” he concluded.
