Of all Bundesliga clubs, Arminia Bielefeld has some of the deepest connections with the African continent. The club is currently reconnecting with Africa through a series of digital activations.

The kick-off will be an open roundtable discussion in English, moderated by International Football Analyst and Co-founder of Digital Sports Africa and Sports Network Africa, Emeka Enyadike and a high-level group of South African and German panellists including

 – Martin Schäfer, German Ambassador to South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini

– Sibusiso Zuma, former South African national player and former professional Arminia Bielefeld

– Desiree Ellis, current women’s national head coach South Africa

– Sizwe Jacques Mbebe, Presenter and Anchor, Bundesliga at SABC Sport.

– Matthias Boddenberg, Chief Officer AHK Southern Africa

– Samir Arabi, CEO Sport DSC Arminia Bielefeld

– Robin Petersen, CEO SPN Africa, former CEO South African Football Association

Emeka Enyadike said he was delighted to be able to host a conversation that looks at Arminia and the Bundesliga’s long connection with Africa and also examines what tomorrow’s fan engagement will look like, in a post-COVID-19 era in which streaming has made physical distance almost immaterial.

“The pandemic has impacted the game of football and especially fans around the world but through digital platforms, we are able to create good conversations and fan engagement on a level that didn’t exist before it and what a pleasure to be asked to drive the program. “

“ The Bundesliga is one of the best Leagues in the World and has always provided platforms for African players and Arminia Bielefeld is one of the Clubs that have provided South African Players with a window to the world,” Enyadike said ahead of Tuesday’s (April 7) event.
