“We will be launching in the Kenyan market very soon and our top priority is to support Kenyan football. Being a responsible gaming provider since the very beginning we aim to bring more engagement and excitement together with Leopards SC in the near future,” he said.
Former sponsor SportPesa pulled out of contracts with Kenya’s top-flight teams after leaving the country following a regulatory dispute with tax authorities. However, the betting company had already grown into a force in world sports betting force after Guerassim Nikolov founded the company in Kenya in 2014. Sportpesa, which launched on the back of massive growth in mobile phone penetration across the region, proved to the world that Kenya – indeed, East Africa – is a lucrative potential market for sports betting companies.
