Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC head coach, Tony Bolus has said the restart of the domestic top-flight will be dependent on easing off of coronavirus crisis.
The top-flight and other leagues in the land have been suspended since mid-March due to the global pandemic.
Bolus said any programme or talk on possible restart of the league season will be rubbished by the high level of uncertainties surrounding the global health crisis.
“A decision on the restart or otherwise of the league is such one cannot just know what to do or say immediately because we do not know when we will be out of the coronavirus crisis.
“For me the most important thing we should do at the moment is to wait and see how the whole global pandemic plays out eventually.
“If we insisted on seeing the league ends its full circle and in the next day or so we are still battling with the global health crisis you know it will be difficult in such situation for the league to restart.
“Had it been we are sure that perhaps this month’s end the coronavirus crisis will be over then we will be able to know what to do.
“But you know if it ended this way it will help us prepare for next season, I think it will be a better thing.
“It will even help the teams because recruitment of players this time around will not be massive as it used to be. Teams will be recruiting may be five, six, seven or ten players.
“At least, now the league did not end properly teams will have to build on what they have last season.
“However, whichever decision the league body takes will be good for us,” said the former Enugu Rangers assistant coach.
Bolus said though at the moment his side are safe on the league table but continental ticket is still open for the Church team.
“Yes, MFM FC are safe on the table right now but if the league did not end as it is now then you will agree with me that the league is still wide open.
“Thirteen games are huge and out of the numbers if one is able to get 10 one is automatically in the continent.
“For us at MFM FC continent is still a dream, very much our dream,” said the former Giwa FC gaffer.
Bolus said he maintains a daily training routine for himself and the players within the lockdown period.
“I am in Abuja at the moment and right here there is a small space within the home for one to go for a walk as well as little jogging.
“One must strive to keep fit else you will discover that you have added unnecessary weight.
“Every day I design a programme on WhatsApp for the players and which they must carry out and report back through the video.
“We do the programme every day from 2-4pm and there is a fine for failure to report back. I’m happy with the outcome so far.
“Of course, the players know what is at stake, I think everyone is enjoying the training programme,” said Bolus.
MFM FC are 14th on the 20-team top-flight log on 31 points 18 behind league leaders, Plateau United.
