Bayern Munich have gone seven points clear in Germany’s Bundesliga following a 4-0 at Schalke on Sunday.
Thomas Muller scored a brace at the Veltins Arena with Robert Lewandowski and David Alaba also getting goalscoring contributions for the champions at the Veltins Arena.
Bayern have now amassed 42 points from 18 matches this season.
Second placed RasenBallsport Leipzig lost valuable ground in the title race after a 3-2 defeat at Mainz 05.
Moussa Niakhate scored a brace for the hosts with Leandro Barreiro adding a third for the hosts while Tyler Adams and Marcel Halstenberg scored the goals for Leipzig.
Bayer Leverkusen are third despite a 1-0 home loss to VfL Wolsfburg. Bote Baku was the match winner for the visitors at the BayArena as Wolfsburg moved into the Champions League places.
Borussia Moenchengladbach have moved up to fifth following a stunning 4-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Borussia Park.
Erling Braut Haaland scored twice for the Black and Yellow but his efforts proved inadequate as the hosts won in comprehensive fashion to boost their European ambitions.
There was a piece of history at the Prezero Arena as Hoffeinheim defeated Koln 3-0.
Andrej Kramaric scored twice for the victors and with 68 goals in 132 Bundesliga appearances, he has become the club’s record scorer, outstripping Sejad Salihovic’s 49-strike tally by some distance.
He is also the Bundesliga’s new all-time leading Croatian goalscorer.
