CAF Champions League group stage draw – no easy road for any club.

The draw for the group stage of the 2020-21 CAF Champions League will be held on Friday, with the ceremony due to
start at 17h00 GMT at the Caf headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Sixteen clubs are still in the running in this season’s edition of Africa’s Premier club competition and they will know their fate as regards group stage opponents on Friday.

The sixteen clubs have been seperated into four pots. No two teams from the same pot can be group together after the draw.
Pot one comprises four clubs that have won the competition a staggering 20 times.

Egyptian club, Al Ahly are the reigning champions and have claimed the top diadem on nine occasions while Wydad Athletic from Morocco and Tunisian giants, Espérance, the second and third teams in pot 1 have been crowned African champions on two and four occasions respectively. The final team in the first pot, TP Mazembe from Congo DR have won the title on five previous occasions and many sides in the second, third and fourth pots will be looking to avoid the club from Lubumbashi in the group stage.
