City beat Crystal Palace to move to the brink of PL title

Manchester City moved to the brink of the Premier League title on Saturday as they defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park.
Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres netted in the second half to put the Citizens within touching distance of their third title in four seasons.

Aguero, City’s all-time record goal scorer, will leave the club at the end of the season but he reminded all of his unquestionable quality in front of goal with a stupendous finish in the 57th-minute.

Torres’ calmly-taken second then put the game beyond the reach of the Eagles as Pep Guardiola and his charges took a giant step towards another title. Aguero’s goal was a thing of beauty as he controlled Mendy’s low cross then thumped a half-volley past the helpless Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. City’s four-pronged attack went for the kill and Aguero was involved once more in a swarming attack as Torres picked out the bottom left corner from the edge of the area.

The win on Saturday means that City will be crowned champions if Manchester United lose to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
City have now amassed 80 points from 34 matches this season.
