Danjuma calls a-must-win NWFL tie against Delta

Nasarawa Amazons technical adviser, Chris Danjuma has described as a-must-win the clash against visiting side, Delta Queens.

The Lafia side will host the Asaba landladies in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership matchday 4 clash at the Lafia City Stadium.

The former champions have been winless in the last three matches losing back-to-back at home to FC Robo Queens and Bayelsa Queens and away defeat at Confluence Queens.

Danjuma said the clash against Delta Queens will be the turnaround and redefinition of their determination to reclaim the top league prize at the end of the current campaign.

“Of course, we will want to restart the league campaign and commencement of our New Year resolutions on a positive note.

“And the turnaround will definitely start with the NWFL Premiership matchday 4 clash against Delta Queens on Wednesday in Lafia.

“The match is already being tagged a-must-win match because of the important we attached on the game.

“A victory in the encounter will put us on the path of rediscovery of our hitherto fearsome past history.

“We must win the match convincingly to prove to our doubters and fans as well that we are a force to be reckoned with in the domestic league.

“Though we have been without a win in the past three matches losing two on home front to FC Robo Queens and Bayelsa Queens as well as an away defeat at Confluence Queens we remain optimistic of not only finishing the season on high but equally going ahead to achieve our target.

“We have done a lot of soul searching into our failings to win matches and we are coming out strongly to stamp out the poor start to the season.

“We have resolved to beat Delta Queens and take it up from there to other matches on the calendar.

“The season has just started and we are certainly going to take our pride of place on the league table,” said the Nigerian women U20 coach.

The Lafia landladies are 13th on the 14-team NWFL Premiership log on zero point against the opponents, Delta Queens on the 6th position on six points.

The current league season’s winners will have the rare privilege of representing the country in the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League.
