Lars Stindl scored a hattrick as Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Moenchengladbach shared the spoils in a 3-3 classic in Germany’s Bundesliga on Tuesday.
Two of his goals arrived at the death with the hosts seemingly certain they had done enough to close out the win as they led 3-1 till the 90th minute.
Stindl opened the scoring in the rip-roaring contest decided at Deutsche Bank Park in the 14th minute but they were pegged back by the hosts when Andre Silva equalized from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.
Silva made it 2-1 for Frankfurt as the shell-shocked visitors reeled and struggled for composure.
Things went from bad to worse for Moenchengladbach as Aymen Barkok made it 3-1 in the 32nd minute.
It looked like the hosts had done enough to secure the points but Stindl astonishingly scored twice in stoppage time to rescue an unlikely point.
Eintracht Frankfurt are in ninth place on the standings with 14 points from 12 matches while Moenchengladbach occupy seventh spot with 18 points from 12 matches.
