Hakimi explains Inter move

Former Real Madrid star, Achraf Hakimi has revealed that he joined Italian club, Inter largely because of coach Antonio Conte. Hakimi, who joins the Nerrazzurri from German club, Borussia Dortmund said Conte has a system which suits his style of playing.

The 21-year-old Morocco international revealed this while fielding questions sent in by fans during a livestreamed Q&A.
“I chose Inter because I think the coach’s style is particularly suited to my way of playing and I can be of real help to this team. We’ll try to achieve great results and certainly aim to win the Scudetto,” said Hakimi.
“Conte is a great coach, with a very competitive spirit. He has this extraordinary passion for football and transmits that to his players, fans, and everyone around the club. His motivation allows the side to be fired up for every game.
“I already played 3-5-2 at Borussia Dortmund. When the offer came, I thought this was a great opportunity for me to grow, as the fans here experience football in such a special way. I have joined a great club.”

Hakimi spent the last two seasons in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, then Real Madrid sold him to Inter for €40 million.
“Playing in Germany allowed me to mature as a player, gain experience and confidence. It was a wonderful experience, now I will go into a more tactical league like Serie A.
“Our objective is to win the Scudetto, make the fans happy, then go forward in the Champions League and do even better than last season.
“I am here to give my best, so we’ll do great things together and try to win some trophies!”
The right-back has been compared to Inter legend Douglas Maicon, but his hero is a different Brazilian.
“Maicon was an amazing right-back with this incredible physicality. Obviously, I’d love to follow his footsteps at Inter, but I hope to be remembered for my own path.
“I’ve always said Marcelo is my hero, as I love his characteristics on the field. I also got to know him at Madrid and really appreciate the joy he brings to a team.
“Samuel Eto’o is another former Inter player that inspired me, even if we don’t play the same role. He made history and is a symbol of football in Africa.”
