The Harmony Boys are guests of the Olukoya Boys in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 7 clash at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.
The sides experienced contrasting fortunes going into Sunday’s matchup. The visitors enjoyed a 1-0 win against FC IfeanyiUbah at home in matchday 6 clash, while the hosts shared the spoils of goalless draw with struggling side, Abia Warriors at their adopted home in Okigwe.
Bashiru said his side will do everything humanly possible to avoid defeat in the hands of the hosts, MFM FC.
“First, I’m very glad and happy to be among the Kwara United players, I’m looking forward to come to Lagos to pick the maximum points in Lagos.
“I do not know exactly how it will happen but with God and our commitment we will pick something positive over there. Three points is the target but draw, too will be appreciated.
“It will be very hard for me to celebrate goal over there, I do not think I can celebrate against my former side because MFM is like a family to me.
“I cannot forget MFM FC in a hurry, if I happened to score against them I will quietly appreciate God, I will not get the power to celebrate widely even though I will be glad to score against them,” said the former Lobi Stars strongman.
Bashiru said his side’s target in the ongoing top-flight campaign is to make it to a continental challenge at the end of the season.
“With God on our side and our commitment we are going to give our very best to ensure we achieve something substantial at the end of the season.
“We are planning to go to the continent at the end of the current campaign so we are committed towards the goal,” said Bashiru.
The llorin landlords are seventh on the 20-team top-flight log on 11 points three behind league leaders, Nasarawa United.
