Ighalo scores, United advance to FA Cup semis

Odion Ighalo put his mark on United’s FA Cup campaign with a superb volley as Manchester United beat Norwich City 2-1 to advance.

The first half ended goaless but 6 minutes after the interval, Luke Shaw broke free down the left wing and fired in a cross that was diverted by Juan Mata into the path of Ighalo, who volleyed home.

This was Ighalo’s fifth goal in just four starts for United.

Norwich equalized in the 75th minute through Cantwell to take the game to extra time.

Harry Maguire scored the winner in extra time with the game heading towards penalties.

Norwich will take consolation in their dominant performance and will now turn their attention to the Premier League relegation battles as they take on Arsenal on Wednesday (July 1).
