Leicester City and Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been named Premier League Player of the Month for March.
This is the first time the 24 year old is taking home the monthly award.
Iheanacho was in blistering form in the month of March as he helped Leceister City to third on the Premier League standings following series of impressive performances.
The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup golden ball winner netted five goals in three Premier League games last month.
Iheanacho secured a point for Leceister against Burnley with a fine strike and he was on the score sheet for the Foxes against Brighton and Hove Albion. The Nigerian capped a superb performance during the month with a brilliant hattrick against Sheffield United.
The Imo-born player also scored twice for Leceister in their FA Cup triumph over Manchester United, helping them to the semi final of the tournament.
Kelechi Iheanacho outlasted Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, West Ham’s Jesse Lingard, Leeds United’s Illan Messlier, Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez, Manchester United’s Luke Shaw and Brighton’s Leandro Trossard.
