Klopp could quit football after leaving Liverpool in 2024

Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp says he intends to take a year off when his current contract with the Reds ends in 2024. Klopp also sensationally added that he may never coach again, when he eventually leaves Liverpool.

The 53-year-old Klopp led Liverpool to UEFA Champions League glory in the 2018-19 season and led the club to their first-ever Premier League a season later.

Now Klopp has revealed he will see out his current contract at Anfield – which expires in 2024 – then take a year off before deciding whether or not to call it a day.
“I’ll take a year off and ask myself if I miss football,” Klopp told German outlet Sport Buzzer.
“If I say no, then that will be the end of coach Jurgen Klopp.
“If one day I am no longer a coach, there is one thing I will not miss – the brutal tension immediately before the game.”

Klopp had previously stated his intention to take a year off after seeing out his contract.
Last month, the German said: “[I will have] four more years at Liverpool, then do nothing for a year.
“[After that] maybe a club, a national team or nothing at all.
“[I will definitely do] what I want…. what I want to do.
“In five years the world can look very different again.”

Meanwhile, Klopp insisted Liverpool are not defending their title in 2020-21 – as they are desperate to win new ones.
“The whole club is hot for the new season, we want to be even better.
“We want to chase the opponents and the ball over the entire field, continue to be a super unpleasant team that is not fun to play.
“We’re not defending any titles, we want to get new ones, we’ve only just started winning,” he concluded.
