The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) organizers, the League Management Company (L.M.C) has approved and rearranged the match day 22, 2020-21 game between league leaders, Akwa United F.C and sixth placed, Rangers International.
The fixture which was earlier scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 23, 2021 will now be played on Monday, May 24, 2021.
The LMC sent in an official correspondence to the management of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ and the ‘Promise Keepers’ on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in which the Chief Operating Officer of L.M.C, Salihu Abubakar gave reasons for the rearrangement to logistics and television schedule.
Venue for the cracker remains ‘The Nest of Champions’, Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo with kickoff set at 4.00pm.
Other fixtures that were affected by the rearrangement will see Rangers battle Jigawa Golden Stars on Thursday, May 27, 2021 instead of the earlier date of Wednesday, May 26, 2021 just as Abia Warriors and Akwa United also had some of their fixtures also rearranged.
The C.O.O urged teams involved in the rearrangement of their matches to ensure that all logistics and Covid-19 protocols are put in place for the matches.
