Manchester City confirm three new COVID-19 cases

Premier League giants, Manchester City have confirmed three new cases of Covid-19 at the club.
This comes just hours ahead of their Carabo Cup with Manchester United.
The three members of the city family who have contracted the virus are Scott Carson, Cole Palmer and a member of staff have all contracted the virus.
The club has since released a statement to ratify the situation.
“Manchester City FC can confirm that Scott Carson, Cole Palmer and one member of staff have tested positive for COVID-19,” the statement read. “Both personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.
“Everyone at the Club wishes Scott, Cole and all of our other colleagues a speedy recovery ahead of their return to work, training and competition.”
It is still not clear if the current situation will affect City’s EFL Cup semi final at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
City’s Premier League contest against Everton at Goodison Park on December 28, 2020 because of a growing Covid-19 outbreak among the City squad.
On Christmas Day, City announced that Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker tested for COVID-19 alongside two members of club staff. 
The club subsequebtly closed their first-team training ground, which will undergo a deep clean.
It was the second Premier League game this season to be called off due to a coronavirus outbreak, after Aston Villa vs Newcastle.
