Argentina football legend, Diego Maradona is recovering brilliantly according to his neurologist Leopoldo Luque.
The football world was thrown into gloom earlier in the week as Maradona was admitted to hospital on Monday night.
He then had a surgery the following day after a bleed on the brain was discovered.
Luque has now revealed that Maradona feels well and ‘even danced’ after the procedure was performed on Tuesday.
“First of all I’d like to say that Diego is fine,” he told reporters.
“The tomography he was subjected to went well too. He even danced. Yes, he danced.”
The Argentinean, however, will remain at the hospital for a few more days.
Luque said this was imperative as Maradona will still need to be kept under close examination.
“We noted episodes of confusion and, together with colleagues in the intensive care unit, we associated them with a picture of abstinence. So we think he should stay here, it’s the best thing for Diego and he knows it.
“We must be cautious, because we are still in the post-operative period. It is clear that he has no neurological complications. There are other parameters that we are waiting to assess because it is still very early but the recovery is excellent so far.”
