Match Day Four NPFL wrap: Rivers United, Enyimba lose perfect records

Rivers United and Enyimba International have both lost their prrefect records in this season’s Nigeria Professional Football League.
The two sides were unbeaten and had yet to have their defences breached going into Wednesday’s matches.
United however lost 0-1 to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi while Enyimba went down 2-0 to Heartland.
Chinedu Udeagha’s goal on the half hour at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi condemned the Port Harcourt club to their first defeat of the season but they still remained top of the standings as they have amassed 12 points from a possible 12.
Shadrack Oghali and Emmanuel Adachie’s goal proved adequate for Heartland to record a shock 2-0 win over Enyimba at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
Enyimba have now dropped to 10th in the standings.
Rangers International moved  up to second with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FC Ifeanyiubah at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Israel Abia and Shedrack Asiegbu netted for the hosts at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu while Ekene Awazie was then goalscorer of the Nnewi club’s consolation.
Kano Pillars continued with their impressive start to the season after Rabiu Ali’s 78th minute penalty condemned Plateau United to a 1-0 defeat at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The difficult start to Abia Warriors’ season is showing little signs of coming to an end after the Umuahia club suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Jogawa Golden Stars.
Samuel Stone’s second half brace and Qadry Olasukanmi’s first half effort rendered Utibe Arit Achibong’s opener purely academic as the Warriors suffered a heavy defeat at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Abia Warriors are officially the only team in the league yet to register on the board this season.
Wednesday’s result also represented the first time in 4659 days that Jigawa Golden Stars would be recording a win, away from home in the competition.
Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars played out a 2-2 draw at the Akure Township Stadium with the hosts snatching a late equalizer courtesy of Sadeeq Yusuf’s goal in the 92nd minute.
Warri Wolves comfortably Katsina United 3-0 in Ozoro thanks to goals from Daniel Mark, Tega Ebetomame and Uche Ihuarulam.
Dakkada FC and MFM settled for a share of the spoils at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo as both sides played out a 1-1 draw.
Temim Adebayo equalised on 77 minutes after Chigozie Solomon gave Dakkada the lead on the stroke of half time.
Kwara United and Akwa United also settled for a point apiece in their 1-1 draw at the Illorin Township Stadium.
Adamawa United and Nasarawa United battled to a 0-0 draw at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe with the visitors’ Reuben Nicodemus denied from the penalty spot by Victor Philemon in the 21st minute.
