Mount dispels Grealish rivalry speculation

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has said talk about him having a rivalry with Aston Villa captain, Jack Grealish whenever both team up with England is off the mark.

Mount says he and Grealish are different types of players who are drafted into different positions with the Three Lions.
He added that they both get themselves concerned with doing their best for the national team at all times.
“I’d never look at it as a rivalry [with Grealish],” Mount said. “We are two different players and we do different things. We are two team-mates who want to do the best for each other, for the team and for the country as well. We can play in different roles. I look at the way he’s been playing this season, he’s been unbelievable and we both want to bring that to the next three games.”

In terms of social media criticism and the accusation he has been made a teacher’s pet by Lampard and Southgate, Mount added: “No, not at all. I’m a player that wants to do their best for the team and work hard. And maybe people take that the wrong way, I don’t know.

“You see comments here and there, but I’m not one to really look too much into social media and that side of it. I know it’s big in football now, especially when the fans are not at the stadium. I think, obviously, a lot of people are on social media when watching the games or commenting on the games.
“It doesn’t really bother me too much. You have Instagram, Twitter, all this, but I’m not too big on doing stuff on social media. That’s just what I’ve been like, not just when I’ve come into the first team, but for a couple of years now.
“I know people can say good things and then people can say a lot of bad things, so I try not to look too much into it. People are always going to have an opinion. I just really think the most important people that are in your life are going to help you – listen to them and that’s what I’ve always done.”
