Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho and some of his squad appear to have broken COVID-19 restrictions after footage of one of the club’s training sessions was made public.
In the video released on Tuesday, defenders Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon were seen running side-by-side.
That singular act goes against government regulations that require two-metre social distancing while in public with anyone other than family or a spouse.
Mourinho meanwhile was seen in his training gear overseeing a separate, improvised session for Tanguy Ndombele.
Mourinho however claims that all social distancing measures were respected during the session.
Tottenham have now reacted to the situation as a spokesperson of the club insisted that all their players have been made to act responsibly in line with the government regulations during training sessions.
“All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors,” said the Spurs spokesperson said via The Guardian.
“We shall continue to reinforce this message,” the spokesperson concluded.
Spurs sat in eighth place on the Premier League standings with 41 points from 29 matches before the season was concluded following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
