Ibrahim Musa has stated that he will not underestimate Adamawa United ahead of the matchday 22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game on Sunday.
‘Sai Masu Gida’ are joint top of the league standings and their opponents are at the wrong end of the log, specifically ensconced at the bottom of the table.
Pillars’ opponents are also without a win on the road and all these put together makes they heavy favourites to pick up the win and in convincing fashion.
However, technical adviser of the side has stated that his side will face United like any other top side in the division.
“We are going to play Adamawa United, thinking we are playing teams like Rangers, Enyimba and Akwa [United] because they are under pressure to survive as they in the relegation positions,” Musa told SPNAfricaNews.
“We can not joke with this match, it is very important, all of us, the technical crew and players are taking this match as one of our best matches in the league.
“Adamawa have a very good team. We played them in the first round of the season, we played 1-1 and they are one of the best teams we played, so we can’t joke with this match.
“We are expecting a win by the grace of God and getting the maximum three points.
The gaffer of the Kano club also addressed possibility of new signing and Super Eagles of Nigeria captain starting the game at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
“He may likely play,” he added.
“It depends on our meeting with the players. I can’t confirm that Ahmed Musa will play or not it is very likely.
“He is with us in Kaduna, he also trained with us, so anything can happen.”
Kano Pillars, who are joint top of the NPFL table after amassing 37 points will host Adamawa United on Sunday, May 16, 2021.
