New Premier League season starts September 12

A new start date for the Premier League 2020/21 season was confirmed by English football’s top division on Friday (July 24), the league said in a statement.

Premier League shareholders agreed that the next campaign will get underway on September 12, seven weeks after the current season finishes on Sunday (July 26). May 23 will be the date for the last game of the new season and the Premier League will remain in dialogue with the Football Association and the EFL over scheduling.

The 20 top-flight clubs gathered for their final shareholders’ meeting of this season on Friday, ahead of the final round of games.
