No worry over Dreamstar NWFL turnaround – Wemimo

Sunshine Queens head coach, Matthew Wemimo has said her side are unperturbed confronting Dreamstar Ladies at their finest performing moment.

The Owena Mermaids are hosts of the Pride of Lagos in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) matchday 10 clash at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure.

Prior to the midweek matchup, the Akure side lost 0-1 to top-flight newcomers, Royal Queens in Warri while the Lagos side stunned multiple champions, Rivers Angels 1-1 at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Wemimo said her side have done their homework perfectly well to be able to pocket the whole three points at stake in the clash.

“Dreamstar Ladies do not frighten or intimidate us with their latest five-star performance against top side, Rivers Angels last week.

“We are not bordered or worried by the headlines performance at all rather we are damn ready to battle them for the three points at stake.

“Of course, everybody should expect a good game, we are ready for them, we will meet them tomorrow (Wednesday) and I will add let the best side carry the day.

“Definitely, we will be the best team on matchday that will carry the day, we are picking the three points, that’s our desire and expectation of our teeming fans,” said the Nigerian women senior team coach.

Wemimo said her side have pushed behind them the shocking defeat at newcomers, Royal Queens to pay undivided attention on the Lagos side encounter.

“After every game I always make them to understand that everything about the game is in the past and there is nothing anyone can do about it or change the outcome.

“Future is the real focus, I’m sure they have forgotten the loss and paying undivided attention on the match against Dreamstar Ladies.

“I believe they are going to perform creditably well as to claim the whole points at stake.

“No injury worries, everyone is good to go, to give her best for the glory of the team,” said Wemimo.

Sunshine Queens are seventh on the 14-team top-flight log on 13 points nine behind league leaders, Bayelsa Queens.
