Confluence Queens head coach, Whyte Ogbonda has said his side are going all out for the three points at stake against former champions, Delta Queens.
The Lokoja landladies are host of their opposite from Asaba in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) matchday 6 clash at the Kogi Township Stadium, Lokoja.
Prior to the midweek matchup, the Ogbonda tutored side piped the Lagos side, FC Robo Queens 1-0 at home in matchday 5 clash while the Asaba side equally edged leaders and neighbours, Bayelsa Queens 1-0 in Asaba.
Ogbonda said his side’s target is to amass a total of ten points before its next away crunchy match at Edo Queens.
“We are ready for tomorrow’s (Wednesday) game, we have done our bit through the week so I can gladly say we are ready for the match.
“Yes, we are playing Delta Queens and as we all know Delta Queens is one of the female champions no matter their current state a champion is always a champion.
“We are going to approach the match with lots of carefulness and seriousness to ensure we get it right.
“Three points is non-negotiable against Delta Queens because our target is to earn 10 points before the next away match at Edo Queens.
“So three points is important to us in tomorrow’s match, we need it badly to keep ourselves on good stead on the log.
“Yes, we are enjoying two straight home matches and that is the more reasons we have to take advantage of it to amass the whole six points.
“Of course, the players know what is at stake, no player will want to stay in a team for three, four seasons.
“Every player aspires to move on in life to a greener pasture and for you to move you must be seen to be winning matches because no team will want to pick a player from a team that is not doing well.
“So they know the importance of doing well as it opens door for better offers elsewhere,” said the former Ibom Angels and Rivers Angels coach.
Confluence Queens are eighth on the 14-team top-flight log on seven points five behind leaders, Bayelsa Queens.
