The Solid Miners whose unbeaten record was halted in Jos by Plateau United at the weekend, lost 1-2 at home to multiple champions, Enyimba in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 8 clash at the Lafia City Stadium.
The former El-Kanemi Warriors goal poacher scored his side’s lone goal against the Aba side.
Ohanachom said his side were simply unlucky on matchday as they did everything humanly possible to upturn the table against the two-time African champions.
“We were simply unlucky losing the match to Enyimba despite concerted efforts on our part to upturn the table against the visitors.
“It’s unfortunate and I can simply say it was not our day to claim the whole three points at stake or even pull a draw.
“Well, we have taken the loss in good faith seeing it as part of the game of football, you win some and lose some, too.
“Of course, we must lose some matches same way we have won some matches outside our base.
“Our loss at home to Enyimba would not amount to a crime, I know the world best teams do lose matches at home.
“The loss is instructive that we must buckle up, tighten our belts to fight for points away from home.
“The losses are momentary setback we will definitely bounce back to winning way once again,” said the former FC Taraba marksman.
Ohanachom said his side will work tirelessly to avoid extension of the losses when they confront Rivers United in Port Harcourt at the weekend.
“We will avoid three straight defeats at Rivers United in Port Harcourt at the weekend’s matchday 9 clash.
“I cannot say outright where the pendulum will swing that will be a decision for 90 minutes but we will fight to avoid defeat,” said the former Heartland goal king.
The Lafia side are sixth on the 20-team top-flight log on 14 points four behind league leaders, Enyimba.
