Onyekuru got on the end of Ryan Donk’s assist to open the scoring for the hosts on the stroke of half time at Türk Telekom Stadyumu in the matchday 23 contest. It was his third goal in two games for Galatasaray as he also netted twice in the 2-1 win at Gaziantep on January 29.
Onyekuru has now scored 60 career club goals all together in 120 starts. He is currently in his second spell at the club following a cameo during the 2019/20 season.
The 23-year-old didn’t exactly hit the heights back then as he only scored once in ten league appearances for the club.
He subsequently moved to France where he teamed up with AS Monaco to little effect as he failed to score in any of his four league games for the Principality club.
Onyekuru has also previously played for AS Eupen and Anderlecht. The win lifts Galatasaray up to second on the league standings with 45 points from 22 matches, three points adrift of the leaders, Fenerbahçe.
