Orlando Pirates frustrate Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns failed to reduce Kaizer Chiefs lead in the race for the PSL title as the Champions were held to a goalless draw by a resolute Orlando Pirates on Tuesday night (August 11).

A win for Sundowns could have reduced Amakhosi’s lead to a point on the league table. Chiefs will be delighted.

Sundowns made a number of changes to freshen their team following a Nedbank Cup win over Bidvest Wits over the weekend but for Pirates, this was their first game since the restart and they gave Pitso Mosimane’s men a hard time, frustrating their quest to stop the Amakhosi.
