Osho rues loss to Rivers United

Fatai Osho has expressed disappointment at the late goal conceded by his side against Rivers United in Sunday’s rearranged Nigeria Professional Football League game which the ‘People’s Elephant’ lost 1-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium Port Harcourt.
Sunday Adetunji headed Kazie Enyinnaya’s inch-perfect delivery on 85 minutes past the flailing John Noble in the Enyimba goal as United claimed a hard-earned win which lifted them up to fourth on the standings.
Osho acknowledged that the Port Harcourt club just about deserved the result while adding that it was painful to have conceded so late in contest.
“It was umfortunate as this loss came in a painful way,” Osho told SPNAfricaNews. “We could have been a bit more tidy by not allowing that particular cross (by Kazie) come in.
“Unfortunately we allowed it and the match has been won and lost.”
“We still have three (outstanding) more matches (to play). We need to get results in those games and see how we can get to the top of the table.
“If we can get results in those games, we will be at the top of the table.”
Enyimba’s next game is against 19th placed FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Aba and Osho has stated that his side will not underrate the ‘Anambra Warriors’ at their stately patch, the Enyimba International Stadium.
“The league this season does not have the ‘home factor’ because the fans are not there to support any team,” Osho continued
“We believe strongly that we have to do a lot of work against FC Ifeanyi Ubah, it will be a great mistake if we underrate them, nobody can do that.
“They [FC Ifeanyi Ubah] have been struggling a lot and they want to improve their position on the table and we have to respect them a lot. We are going to make this known to our players. It is going to be another difficult task.”
