21-year-old Nigerian international Victor Osimhen appears set to join Italian club, SSC Napoli from his French club, Lille OSC.
Osimhen netted 13 goals in 27 league appearances for Les Dogues before the 2019/20 campaign was cancelled following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic. He has since attracted huge interest from some of Europe’s big hitters with Napoli seemingly in the box seat to land the Lille striker.
Respected Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Wednesday (July 15) that Osimhen “is now one step away from joining Napoli”.
“Victor Osimhen is now one step away from joining Napoli. Personal terms have been agreed – he’s ready to sign until June 2025. Napoli are now working to complete last details with Lille and his agents then the deal will be finally completed.”
Osimhen’s impressive season with Lille also saw him score three times in domestic cup competitions and twice in the UEFA Champions League. He has scored four goals in nine appearances for Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles.
