Former Germany international, Mesut Ozil is looking forward to remaining at Arsenal despite speculation linking him to an exit from the Emirates. Staying on would see him remain with the Gunners until the end of his contract in June 2021.
Ozil, 31, has told the Athletic that:
“Things have been difficult but I love Arsenal, I’ll decide when I go, not other people.”
“I’ll give everything I have for this club, situations like these will never break me, they only make me stronger. I showed in the past that I can come back into the team and I will show it again.”
Ozil joined Arsenal in 2013 on a £350,000 a week deal following his £42.5 million transfer from Real Madrid. At the time that made him the most expensive German transfer of all time.
