The Premier League looks set to return with games scheduled to commence from June 17.
Two games will be played initially, both fixtures that had been delayed before the break. That will ensure that all teams will have played the same number of games, at 29 each.
Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal will be played on Wednesday, June 17, with full rounds of fixtures resuming from the following weekend.
The two fixtures had originally been postponed due to the EFL Cup finals – won by Man City.
The first full round of fixtures will commence on Friday, June 19 and will be staggered across the weekend, the Premier League have confirmed.
However, the restart is dependent on the league receiving a clean bill of health.
Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said: “Today we have provisionally agreed to resume the Premier League on Wednesday 17 June.”
“But this date cannot be confirmed until we have met all the safety requirements needed, as the health and welfare of all participants and supporters is our priority.”
“Sadly, matches will have to take place without fans in stadiums, so we are pleased to have come up with a positive solution for supporters to be able to watch all the remaining 92 matches.”
“The Premier League and our clubs are proud to have incredibly passionate and loyal supporters.”
