Chelsea wasted a golden opportunity to go top of the Premier League on Saturday losing 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park.
Gylfi Sigurdsson’s 22nd minute penalty was the difference between the two sides as the Blues remained in third place with 22 points from 12 games.
Earlier, the Manchester derby between United and City ended in a disappointing stalemate.
They two sides appeared to show too much respect to each other and ended up sharing the spoils at Old Trafford.
United with 20 points amassed from 11 games are in 8th place on the log while City have amassed 19 points from the same number of games and are in 9th place in the standings.
Miguel Almiron and Dwight Gayle both scored as Newcastle United defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at St. James’ Park.
Darnell Furlong netted the consolation for the visitors who are still in the relegation zone following the reverse.
In the first game of the day, Aston Villa left it late to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0.
Nelson Semedo conceded a late penalty following a clumsy challenge on Villa’s John McGinn in stoppage time and Anwar El-Ghazi made no mistakes from 12 yards.
