Cristiano Ronaldo finally scored a free-kick for Juventus after 43 attempts, his 25th goal of the season, becoming only the first player to score 25 Serie A goals in a season for the club since Omar Sivori, in 1961.
Ronaldo had previously scored 32 free-kick goals for Real Madrid and 13 for Manchester United. This was his first for Juventus after almost two years of failed attempts.
Gianluigi Buffon also broke a record during the match as the derby win over Torino was his 648th Serie A appearance, one more than Paolo Maldini’s previous record.
Paulo Dybala scored the opening goal for Juventus and Juan Cuadrado added a second goal before Andrea Belotti pulled one back for Torino.
Ronaldo’s goal was the third, before Torino conceded an own goal.
In Germany, Robert Lewandowski took his goal tally for the season to 51, passing the 50 goals mark as Bayern Munich won a record 29th German Cup, beating Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 to earn a 13th domestic double.
David Alaba scored a free-kick to put Bayern ahead and Serge Gnabry added a second before Lewandowski scored his two goals.
Sven Bender’s header and Kai Havertz’s penalty with the last kick for Leverkusen gave them a more respectable score.
