Serena “shooked” over postponement of Wimbledon

Twenty three time Grand Slam champion, Serena Wiliams has reacted to the cancelation of the 2020 Wimbledon Championships.
The Championships was cancelled on Wednesday following the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic that has hit the global sporting calendar.
Williams took to Social Media to voice her sentiments at the news as she simply wrote: “I’m Shooked”.

The word, ‘shook’ is slang for saying that one has been shaken up.
Meanwhile, other stars of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) also took the time to react to the development.
Defending champion, Simona Halep wrote:
“We are going through something bigger than tennis and Wimbledon will be back!”
The defending doubles champion Barbora Strycova also reacted as she posted an emotional message on Twitter.
“It will always be the tournament of my life,” she wrote.
Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova says it’s ‘definitely a tough one to take’.
Former champion Angelique Kerber reflected, “There are more important things that we have to focus on right now.”
Coco Gauff made an unforgettable debut defeating Venus Williams at last year’s tournament.
Stuck at home, Elina Svitolina expressed herself via TikTok, as she’s been doing throughout the last few weeks of event cancellations.
WTA Legend and founder Billie Jean King – whose namesake tennis center in New York City is being converted into a temporary medical facility during the pandemic – praised Wimbledon’s decision and urged the tennis community to come together.
