Serie A wrap: Inter Milan steamroll Sassuolo

Sassuolo missed the chance to go top of Serie A on Saturday as they lost 0-3 to Inter Milan at Stadio Mapei – Citta del Tricolore.
Inter started like a house on fire and quickly put their noses in front through Alexis Sanchez in the fourth minute.
Vlad Chiriches’ woeful attempt to play out of the back was punished ruthlessly by Lautaro Martinez who intercepted and subsequently teed up Sanchez who could not miss from point blank range.
The Nerazzurri were two goals to the good in the 14th minute as Arturo Vidal’s shot off a tight angle was diverted into his own goal by the luckless Chiriches despite the best efforts of the Sassuolo goalkeeper, Andrea Consigli to keep out the danger.
Inter firmly put the game to bed on the hour mark when Roberto Gagliardini got on the end of Matteo Darmian’s cross before sweetly rifling home into Consigli’s right hand corner.
Cristiano Ronaldo was rested for Juventus in their clash with Benevento and head coach, Andrea Pirlo subsequently paid the price as La Vecchia Signora were held to a 1-1 draw by Gli Stregoni at Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
Alvaro Morata put Juve in front in the 21st minute but the hosts hit back through Gaetano Letizia on the stroke of half time.
Atalanta’s shocking start to the season continued as they lost 0-2 at home to Hellas Verona.
Miguel Veloso and Mattia Zaccagni were the goal scorers at the Gewiss Stadium.
