Three players of Real Betis have tested positive for the coronavirus as clubs in the top flight return to training.
All clubs in Spain’s top division, the Liga Santander are conducting tests on their players as they attempt to implement a staged returning to training following the pandemic.
The latest results brings the total number of positive tests in La Liga to six and may deal a blow to plans for the league to restart by June 20.
Atletico Madrid defender Renan Lodi, Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Alex Remiro and Granda’s Yangel Herrera have also tested positive for the virus.
Leganes manager, Javier Aguirre had earlier revealed the league’s plans for completing the season involved a five-week period from June 20 where games will be played on Wednesdays, Thursdays and at the weekend.
Clubs in Spain’s top-flight has 11 games left to play, which would see sides play twice a week in a bid to complete the current campaign by July 26.
Barcelona returned to training on Friday, with boss Quique Setien seen wearing a mask and gloves as precautionary measures.
