UEFA has conducted the draw for the quarter-final and semi-final of this season’s UEFA Champions League. The draw took place at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Fans are in for a feast as several mouthwatering ties were thrown up as record-holders, Real Madrid may face the winner of the Olympic Lyonnaise versus Juventus second round of 16, second-leg tie, that is if Real manages to successfully navigate the second leg of their round-of-16 tie versus Manchester City. Los Blancos trail 1-2 from the first leg which was played at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu while Juventus lost 0-1 to Lyon in the first leg in France.
The reformatted one-off final stages begin in Lisbon, Portugal from August 12.
The winner of quarter-final one will take on the team to emerge from quarter-final three, which was drawn as Napoli or Barcelona versus Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
Fresh from their domestic double, Bayern are strongly placed, having won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in the initial match, while the advance of Lionel Messi and his colleagues is on a knife’s edge following their 1-1 draw at Stadio San Paolo.
