Frank Lampard is the latest addition to the English Premier League Hall of Fame class of 2021.
The Chelsea legend joins Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane to be part of an elite set of players who were undoubtedly exceptional during their time in the top flight.
The former Blues captain received the League’s highest honour after winning three League titles during his time in England.
Lampard scored 177 goals as player with West Ham United, Chelsea and Manchester City, the record for any midfielder in the history of the division.
He is one of the six players of a 23-man shortlist to receive the most combined votes from the Premier League panel and the public.
The former England international made 609 appearances, also adding 102 assists and winning four Premier League Player of the Month awards.
He was also named the Premier League Player of the Season in the 2004/05 season.
There are only four players who scored more Premier League goals than Lampard who has scored against 39 different opponents — more than any other player.
The ex-Chelsea captain was also known for his exquisite long-distance goals as he holds the record for the most goals scored from outside the 18 yard area with 41 to his name as he also went on the become Chelsea’s all-time top scorer.
The former Chelsea head coach guided his team to a top four finish in his first season in the 2019-20 season has also being linked to takeover the Crystal Palace coaching job when Roy Hodgson leaves at the end of the season.
