Abia Warriors head coach, Imama Amapakabo is not losing sleep over his side’s less than impressive start to this season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Umuahia club have lost their opening two games of the season and are in 19th place on the 20-team NPFL table.
Amapaka however says he is remaining calm despite the identical 1-0 defeats suffered to Enyimba International and Rivers United on the opening two match days of the season.
“Despite the two losses, I’m very proud of my team, Amapakabo told SPNAfrica News. “We played against two of the most prepared teams in the country.
“We were not outplayed by both teams. We were just unlucky in those two games.”
The Warriors will now embark on the short trip to Uyo to face Abia Warriors on match day two at the ‘Nest of Champions”.
Akwa United have made a difficult start to the season, amassing a solitary point from a possible from their opening two games.
The Uyo club drew 0-0 against Dakkada on the opening match day and were beaten 1-0 in Enugu by Rangers International on Sunday.
Amapakabo knows it will be an extremely difficult game with the two sides desperately in search of points this term.
“Akwa United is a very good team and we know it will be a difficult game,” Amapakabo added. “We however know that we need points and need them fast.
“We go to Uyo with a view to getting a great result and I’m sure we will be distinguish ourselves.”
