Beckham chooses Messi over Ronaldo

Former England captain, David Beckham has joined the debate on one of the most controversial and most debated subjects in football; who is better out Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?
Messi and Ronaldo have been the two most decisive footballers in recent times, winning 11 Ballon d’Ors between them and dominating the European game for over a decade.
Beckham who enjoyed a decorated career himself acknowledges that the duo are a cut above the rest but beli to theeves on stands above the other as far as ability and the ability to influence football matches are concerned.
“He [Messi] is alone in his class as a player, it is impossible that there is another like him. He, like Cristiano Ronaldo, who is not at his level, are both above the rest,” Beckham said in an interview with Argentine outlet Telam.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid Man has firsthand experience of facing Messi in a high profile football encounter and the impact the Argentine is capable of.
Beckham took the time to discuss Messi’s impact for FC Barcelona in a UEFA Champions League game between against Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. 
The French giants clashed with Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the competition and were eliminated on away goals with the score 3-3 after two legs.
“We were leading before Messi came in, and once he came in, Barcelona scored,” Beckham recalls.


“Although I enjoyed playing at that level at my age, I do not like to lose. Our team played well. In both matches, we did things we should be proud of.  
“We didn’t lose against Barcelona, and that is something that should motivate us,” he concluded.
