Kwara United head coach, Abdullahi Usman Biffo has said his side are on the right path to meeting their season’s target after the llorin landlords claimed a point at hosts, Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC.
The Harmony Boys played a pulsating goalless draw against the Olukoya Boys in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 7 clash at the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium in Lagos.
Biffo praised his side highly for standing shoulder to shoulder with their Lagos counterparts to pull a heart-warming and inspiring away point in the encounter.
“The hosts, MFM FC wanted to win the encounter to booster their standing on the league log, we, too wanted to win also to further improve on our rating but it ended in a draw which is still good for us here in Lagos.
“MFM FC are difficult side to play especially on this ground so for us the draw smells like an outright victory.
“The draw is the right way to go in meeting our season’s goal of finishing among the top three.
“I am proud of my players for holding their ground and playing strictly according to instructions.
“I am happy with their performance and it’s a huge boost and encouragement as we head home to prepare for the midweek clash on our home ground.
“Kwara United is still a work in progress and we will continue to improve with each game until we get it perfectly right,” said the former Abia Warriors and Niger Tornadoes coach.
The llorin side are sixth on the 20-team top-flight on 12 points three behind league leaders, Rivers United.
The Afonja Warriors will play host to Lobi Stars in midweek NPFL matchday 8 clash at the Kwara State Stadium, llorin.
