Enugu Rangers forward, Ifegwu Ojukwu has said he wants to feel the warmth of the ball, grass, teammates and the coaching staff.
The domestic top-flight and other leagues have been suspended since mid-March due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
Ojukwu said the uncertainty surrounding the resumption or otherwise of the league season is worsening an already bad situation for the league players.
“I’m 100% missing the grass, the ball, teammates, coaches, and fans, everything that has to do with the league.
“I’m hungry and eager to feel the pitch once again, I don’t know how my teammates feel about the situation but something tells me they feel the same too.
“The uncertainty surrounding the resumption or otherwise of the league season is further adding to our woes.
“Right now there is no clear information, view or specific information on the league rather everything is almost at a standstill.
“Rather daily we keep hearing of rumour up on rumours that the league will or will not continue.
“Some go as far as saying that the league will be outright cancelled, declared a null and void, no team will be declared winners and none will be demoted.
“Some have it that the league will end as it is at the moment and the league crown handed over to Plateau United.
“Nobody is happy with the height of uncertainties, we are just left alone to keep waiting and waiting perhaps endlessly,” said the former Dakkada FC goal poacher.
Ojukwu said his side have good chance of winning the league crown of the on-going domestic first tier league.
“We have good chance to lifting the league title despite occupying the fourth position on the log at the moment.
“We have an outstanding match to even up with other teams which I’m sure we will win to up our points.
“We are certain to pick vital points on the road in the 13 remaining matches and with our strong position on the home front we will garner enough points to help us challenge for the league title.
“We just need good concentration in the other matches, we have good chance to finish the league on top,” said the former Enyimba and Ikorodu United goal king.
Enugu Rangers are fourth on the 20-team Nigerian top-flight log on 37 points 12 behind leaders, Plateau United with a game to spare.
