AC Milan may have suffered a huge blow ahead of the proposed restart of the 2019/20 Serie A season.
Sky Sports Italia is reporting that the legendary Swede injured his Achilles tendon during training with the Milan team at Milanello Sports Centre on Monday morning (May 25).
Ibra sustained the injury while attempting a shot at goal and will now undergo medical tests to determine the extent of the injury.
The initial signs however points to a lengthy spell away from action for the Swedish attacker who had been one of Milan’s leading lights before the season was halted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Ibra suffered a similar injury earlier in his career while still with former club, LA Galaxy.
That injury saw him sidelined for a total of 25 days during which time he missed two games with the MLS club.
If confirmed, the injury could also mean the end of Ibahimovic’s career, something the 38-year-old himself has admitted is not far away.
