It’s Barca or nothing for Pjanic

Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic is interested only in a move to Spanish giant, FC Barcelona this summer and has reportedly made his feelings known to French suitors, Paris Saint-Germain.
This was reported in Spanish daily, El Mundo Deportivo, on Thursday.

The publication claims that PSG sporting director, Leonardo has been told by Pjanic that he is not interested in a move to the French capital.

French media outlet RMC Sport have also stated that Pjanic will definitely leave Juventus this summer for a new destination with PSG and Barcelona the sides believed to be the clear frontrunners for his signature.

It has also been rumored that Chelsea are in the frame to snap up the 30-year-old with the Blues reportedly negotiating a player-exchange deal with midfielder Jorginho.

There have been suggestions that Barca and Juve are hopeful of a convoluted swap deal which would see Arthur Melo move the other way for Pjanic, but Arthur may have no desire for such a move.

Arthur has a contract with the club until the summer of 2024 with a €400m release clause, while transfermarkt gives him a market value of €70m.

Juventus’ head of transfers, Fabio Paratici confirmed that Juventus are in negotiations with Barcelona but that the Blaugrana are not the only side that have gotten in touch with La Vecchia Signora.

“We are talking to Barça as we do with many important clubs because it will be a difficult summer,” Juventus told Sky Sports in April.

Arthur’s reluctance at leaving the Blaugrana may now mean Juve look elsewhere as a destination for Pjanic.
