Manchester United missed a huge opportunity to go third on the Premier League table after a 2-2 draw with Southampton on Monday night (July 13), succumbing to a late Michael Obafemi equalizer in added time to remain in 5th place after both Chelsea and Leicester suffered heavy defeats over the weekend.
Southampton shot into an early lead through Stuart Armstrong after Paul Pogba was caught in possession and Nathan Redmond set him up with the assist.
United fired back with two quick goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to go into half time 2-1 up.
Michael Obafemi scored in the 96th minute to deny the Red Devils.
