No NPFL tourism at Jigawa, says Oghali

Heartland striker, Shedrack Oghali has enthused that his side are not in the Crocodile City (Kaduna) for tourism.

The Naze Millionaires are guests of Jigawa Golden Stars in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 7 clash at the hosts adopted home ground – Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), Kaduna.

Prior to Sunday’s matchup, the Owerri side performed almost the impossible by coming from behind to defeat visitors, Akwa United 2-1 in Owerri while the Dutse side were roundly beaten 0-2 by Wikki Tourists in Bauchi.

Oghali said his side are going all out against Jigawa Golden Stars aimed at breaking the circle of defeat on the road so far in the six-week old top-flight.

“The NPFL has shown that you can get away points from any team depending on what the day decides to give to you and the level of your readiness to grab the opportunity once it showed up.

“We are going there (Kaduna) to pick a point or points, we are not going there for funfair, tourism or other trivialities.

“We have plans to take a point or the whole points right there in Kaduna against the hosts, Jigawa Golden Stars.

“We have not picked any point on the road so far in the on-going league so we are damn determined to break the jinx.

“It’s not going to be easy not after the hosts lost their last match away to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi.

“They are most likely to come out at us fighting for the whole points but we have already told ourselves that we are not going to leave Kaduna empty-handed.

“We are going to reproduce the doggedness and fighting spirit that saw us come from behind to grab the maximum points against Akwa United.

“And I pray to be on my finest moment to score goal(s) to further up my goal tally beyond the present three goals,” said the former Rivers United hitman.

The Owerri landlords are 17th on the 20-team top-flight log on six points eight behind league leaders, Nasarawa United.
