Royal Queens FC head coach, Paul Mene has said his side will compound the woes of bottom-placed side, Dreamstar Ladies when both sides square up for the three points at stake on Wednesday (February 24).
The Warri-based side will host the Lagos outfit in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership matchday 7 clash at the Warri City Stadium.
The NWFL Premiership newcomers were drubbed 1-3 by hosts, FC Robo Queens in Lagos in matchday 6 clash while Dreamstar Ladies’ fortune was dimmed with one goal loss to visitors, Pelican Stars heading into the midweek matchup.
Mene said Dreamstar Ladies will be made to pay dearly for the sins of FC Robo Queens in handing his side a comprehensive thumbing last week.
“We are taking this match on Wednesday against Dreamstar Ladies as a revenge of the heavy defeat we suffered in the hands of another Lagos side, FC Robo Queens in Lagos last week.
“We will not be contented with the three points but we will go for more goals as many as five to help us clear our goal deficit.
“The goal deficit on our side is quite high so we must score many goals for us to be well placed on the league log.
“So our target is three points and minimum of five goals in Wednesday’s match against Dreamstar Ladies.
“Of course, we will not consider their bottom-placed position at all, there is no mercy for anyone in the league because of the continental ticket on offer, we are equally pursuing the continental ticket, too,” said the former Warri Wolves coach.
Mene said his side have corrected the mistakes that robbed them of good result against FC Robo Queens.
“So far so good, we have corrected all the mistakes we made in Lagos so my team is fully ready for Dreamstar Ladies on Wednesday,” said the Royal Queens tactician.
The Warri outfit are ninth on the 14-team NWFL Premiership log on seven points eight behind league leaders, Bayelsa Queens.
