Nasarawa Amazons head coach, Christopher Danjuma has said there are more glorious moments to come from the Lafia women’s side, with the NWFL Premiership due to restart on Wednesday, February 10.
The Lafia landladies will travel to Benin City for the NWFL Premiership matchday 5 clash to confront Edo Queens on the first day of competition.
The ‘Solid Babes’ started their 2021 Premiership campaign on a poor note, losing their first three games before recording an important victory against visitors, Delta Queens on matchday 4 clash on home ground, Lafia City Stadium.
Danjuma said their first victory prior to the suspension of the league was the tonic the side needed to put their dreams back on track. The COVID-19 tests break has equally helped the team to re-strategize and strengthen their play.
“We have since got over the poor start and ready to start afresh when the league resumes, starting with the game in Benin against Edo Queens.
“Our hopes and aspirations still remains the same, we are optimistic and feel the win against Delta Queens was a major turnaround and key to our rejuvenation.
“No doubt, the short break has given us more time to reflect on our strengths and weaknesses and we are ready to take advantage of it,” said the Nigeria’s women U20 team (Falconets) coach.
The former Nigerian champions are 12th on the 14-team top-flight log on paltry three points nine behind league leaders, Bayelsa Queens.
