Nasarawa United forward, Chinedu Ohanachom has promised to dedicate goals against his former side, Plateau United to his one-month-old daughter.

The Solid Miners and league leaders will be the guests of the Tin City side in Friday’s Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 7 clash at the New Jos Stadium.

Prior to the Friday’s matchup in the Tin City state, the Lafia side claimed the whole three points at hosts, Warri Wolves while the Jos Elephants shared the spoils with hosts, Katsina United in Katsina.

Ohanachom said the derby match presented a wonderful opportunity for his side to maintain a 10-match unbeaten record and for him to score goals against a former side.

“I played for Plateau United at their lower league stint before I headed to FC Taraba so I will be up against a former side on Friday.

“I wish to score against them though I did exactly that last season before it was stopped due to coronavirus.

“Of course, I will celebrate goal(s) against them for my daughter born on Friday, December 25, 2020.

“Definitely, I will joyously celebrate any goal scored aimed at celebrating my daughter not minding the fact it’s a former side.

“Plateau United are good side with good coach, we, too are quality side with sound coach, I know the match will not be an easy one being a derby.

“We are going to match them squarely in all departments, I’m confident we are going to get something nice out of the match.

“It’s either we win or draw the match to keep tab on our resolution for 10-match unbeaten record. We have been unbeaten in the past six matches, we are at the summit and hope to keep the status quo as long as it takes.

“I have confidence in my teammates to deliver the goods, right now it’s all problems for teams either to score first or we did score first, that’s the kind of team we have at the moment,” said the former El Kanemi Warriors and Heartland goal merchant.

The Lafia landlords are at the summit of the 20-team top-flight on 14 points two ahead closest challengers, Rivers United.
